Münster is the place of the Westphalian Peace, which in 1648 ended religious quarrels of the 30-year’s war. It is a very apt place to reflect from various European perspectives on how the important issue of tolerance can be philosophically taught. In our globalized time, foreign cultures are no longer far away, but live in the midst of our societies, and there are new frontiers: How can we learn to accept strangeness? Dutch filmmaker van Gogh was murdered because of his homosexuality, an aethiopian doctor was haunted and nearly slain in Brandenburg. Could teaching tolerance be helpful, and how?
Nevertheless, there are also limits to tolerance (it was in Münster that cardinal v.Galen preached against the Nazis). Can there be female genital mutilation in France or in Germany? Do we tolerate Asian marriage agencies, Russian surrogate mothers, and Chinese organs for Eurotransplant?
The business of teaching in multiethnical schools / universities is difficult, but philosophy can raise fundemental questions, discuss them theoretically and can find a level, which allows transferring theoretical insight into everyday life. This is why this conference will give the opportunity to exchange views and experiences between European teachers of philosophy and related subjects.
Münster ist der Ort des Westfälischen Friedens, der 1648 die religiösen Zwistigkeiten des 30-jährigen Krieg beendet hat. Es ist daher sehr geeignet, auch und gerade heute wieder aus verschiedenen Europäischen Perspektiven darüber nachzudenken, wie das wichtige Thema der Toleranz philosophisch angegangen werden kann.
In unserer globalisierten Zeit sind fremde Kulturen nicht länger weit weg, sondern mitten unter uns, und es gibt neue Herausforderungen: Wie können wir lernen, Fremdheit zu akzeptieren? Der holländische Filmemacher van Gogh wurde wegen seiner Homosexualität ermordet, ein äthiopischer Arzt wurde in Brandenburg fast zu Tode gejagt. Kann Toleranz als Thema des Unterrichts helfen, und wie? Es gibt aber auch Grenzen für Toleranz (es war in Münster, wo Kardinal v. Galen gegen die Nazis predigte). Darf es weibliche Beschneidung in Frankreich oder Deutschland geben? Akzeptieren wir asiatische Heiratsvermittlungen, chinesischen Organhandel mit Eurotransplant, finden wir russische Agenturen für Leihmutterschaft normal?
Das Geschäft des Unterrichts in multiethnischen Schulen ist schwierig, aber die Philosophie kann fundamentale Fragen stellen, sie theoretisch diskutieren und ein Niveau finden, das theoretische Einsichten für das Alltagsleben fruchtbar machen kann. Daher soll diese Tagung europäischen Lehrer/-innen der Philosophie und verwandter Fächer Gelegenheit geben, Sichtweisen und Erfahrungen zum Thema auszutauschen.
Münster est la ville de la Paix de Westphalie qui terminait les querelles religieuses de la Guerre de Trente Ans. Ce lieu est certainement fait pour réfléchir, comment on peut traiter ce sujet important comme la tolérance dans le cadre de l’enseignement en considérant justement les aspects diverses de la réalité actuelle en Europe.
Dans l’époque de la globalisation des civilisations étrangères ne sont pas éloignées, au contraire, elles sont parmi nous et nous produisent des tâches tout-à-fait nouvelles : Dans quelle voie est-il possible d’apprendre comment accepter l’étrange ? Le régisseur néerlandais van Gogh était assassiné à cause de son homosexualité, un médecin de l’Éthiopie était chassé presque à mort dans le Land Brandenburg : La tolérance comme sujet de l’enseignement, peut-elle aider, et comment ?
Mais il y a des limites de la tolérance. C’était aussi à Münster que le cardinal le comte de Galen a prêché contre les Nazis. La circoncision des jeunes filles, peut-elle être permise en France ou en Allemagne ? Devons-nous accepter en toute normalité des agences, qui livrent des épouses asiatiques, des organes chinois pour Eurotransplant ou des mères porteuses russes ?
Il est difficile d’enseigner dans des écoles avec beaucoup d’ethnies, mais la philosophie peut poser des questions fondamentales, elle sait les discuter théoriquement et trouver un niveau, où les connaissances formelles deviennent fructueuses pour la vie de chaque jour.
La conférence de Münster ouvrira la possibilité que des professeurs de philosophie et de matières pareilles qui enseignent dans des écoles européennes échangent et discutent leurs expériences et leurs vues, si, comment et dans quelle forme la tolérance est réalisable.

Comment la philosophie et l’enseignement de la philosophie peuvent contribuer à gagner nos identités
How philosophy and philosophy teaching can contribute to get meaningful identities
Die philosophische Reflektion gilt der europäische Tradition und Zukunft unserer Weltgemeinschaft. Genügt das Leitmotiv der Europäischen Union, politische und soziale Werte zu schaffen, oder brauchen wir auch kulturelle Werte für eine europäische Identität? Haben religiöse Werte noch ein Platz in einer europäischen Zivilgesellschaft? Wie verstehen wir die Multikulturalität? Bedeutet unsere Freiheit, dass wir Verantwortung tragen, unsere eigenen Traditionen zu verteidigen? Wie vertragen sich kosmopolitische Identität und das klassische Ideal der humanistischen Bildung? Ist eine mehrfache oder multiple Identität möglich?
Identität ist ein aktuelles kontroverses Thema geworden. Gibt es eine soziale Identitätskrise? Wenn es diese Krise gibt, ist sie nur eine Denkkategorie oder bittere Wirklichkeit? Wird Identität sozial produziert oder ist sie etwas Authentisches?
Le sujet de la réflexion philosophique de notre congrès est la tradition européenne et l’avenir de notre société mondiale. La question est, si, selon le leitmotiv de la UE, il suffit de créer des valeurs politiques et sociales ou si nous avons besoin aussi des valeurs culturelles pour obtenir une identité européenne. Des valeurs religieuses, ont-elles encore d’importance dans une société civile européenne? Comment pouvons-nous comprendre une société, qui contient des cultures différentes ? Dans le cadre dans notre liberté, nous faut-il défendre nos propres traditions à cause de notre responsabilité? Comment l’identité cosmopolite et l’idéal classique d’une formation humaniste sont-elles compatibles? Est-ce qu’une identité multiforme ou multiple est possible ?
L’identité est devenue un sujet actuel et controverse. Est-ce qu’il y a une crise sociale de l’identité? S’il y a une telle crise, est-elle seulement une catégorie de penser ou une réalité dure? L’identité est-elle produite par les sociétés ou est-elle quelque chose d’authentique?
One part of philosophical reflection is directed to European tradition and the future of our world community. It is a central theme of EU to create political and social values. Is that enough or do we require cultural values for a European identity as well? Do religious values still have room in a European civil society? How do we understand multiculturalism? Does our freedom include our responsibility to defend our own tradition? How does s cosmopolitan identity go with the classical ideal of a humanistic education? Is a double or multiple identity possible?
Identity is a current controversial topic. Is there a crisis of social identity? In case of “yes”: Is it only a category of reasoning or a bitter reality? Is identity a product of social life or something authentic

Lors de la session de l'Assemblée générale les membres présents ont donné leur accord pour augmenter la cotisation annuelle à 15 € à partir de 2004.
Auf der Sitzung des Generals Assemblée beschlossen die anwesenden Mitglieder, den jährlichen Beitrag auf 15 € zu erhöhen von 2004 ab zu erhöhen.
At the time of the session of the General Assemblée the members present gave their agreement to increase the annual contribution to 15 € to start from 2004.
Les élections du bureau central
Les élections du bureau central se sont terminées à 2 ex-aequo. L'AG a donné son accord pour avoir 13 membres élus au lieu de 12 comme prévus par les statuts selon art. 15.
Die Wahlen des zentralen Büros sind an 2 ex- aequo zu Ende gegangen. Die GV gab ihre Zustimmung, das BC auf 13 Mitglieder zu erweitern (anstelle der in den Statuten vorgesehenen 12 (Art. 15).
The elections of the central office finished to 2 ex-aequo. The GA gave its agreement to have 13 members elected instead of 12 as envisaged by the statutes according to art. 15.

En plus, selon le même article 15, l'AG a élu Mme. Luise Dreyer comme membre d'honneur de l'AIPPH pour ses mérites inestimables en tant que trésorière, éditrice, rédactrice et organisatrice pour l'AIPPH. Lors de la session du BC les membres présents ont proposé que Mme L. Dreyer exerce encore ses fonctions d'éditrice du bulletin et des documents, et de trésorière.
Außerdem hat die GV gemäß demselben Artikel 15 Frau Dreyer als Ehrenmitglied der AIPPH für ihre unschätzbaren Verdienste als Schatzmeisterin, Herausgeberin und Redakteurin und Organisatorin für die AIPPH gewählt. Auf der Sitzung des BC haben die anwesenden Mitglieder vorgeschlagen, daß Frau L. Dreyer noch ihre Tätigkeit als Herausgeberin und Redakteurin des Bulletins und der Dokumente und trésorière ausübt.
Moreover, according to same article 15, the GA elected Mrs. Luise Dreyer like member of honnor of the AIPPH for his priceless merits as a trésorière, editor, a writer and organizator for the AIPPH. At the time of the session of the BC the members present proposed that Mrs. L Dreyer still exerts her functions of publisher of the bulletin and of the documents, and of trésorière.
Les fonctions du nouveau bc Mr. W. Busch est demandé de prendre la charge du trésorier au nom du BC. Ont été proposé dans les fonctions suivantes : Mr. H. Lodewyckx comme président, Mme. A. Karageorgieva, comme vice-présidente, Mr. R. Bürcher comme secrétaire.
Herr W. Busch wird gebeten, das Amt des Schatzmeisters im Namen des BC. zu übernehmen. Folgende Besetzungen der Ämter wurden vorgeschlagen: Herr H. Lodewyckx als Präsident, Frau A. Karageorgieva als Vizepräsidente, Herr. R. Bürcher als Sekretär.
Mr. W Busch is asked to take the load of the treasurer in the name of the BC. Were proposed in the following functions: Mr. H. Lodewyckx as president, Mrs. A. Karageorgieva, as vice president, Mr. R. Bürcher as secretary.
